The Patient Care Services of the VA Ann Arbor Health Care System is seeking one, full-time Registered Nurse (Inpatient Telemetry), AD-0610-I/II/III.

Tour of Duty:  Evening Shift, (8 Hours), Rotating Weekends

As an RN assigned to the 5 West (Inpatient Telemetry), the nurse is primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of veteran patients admitted to the 5W section of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System who are recovering from cardiothoracic surgery or require cardiac monitoring.  This includes, but is not limited to assuring that appropriate documentation reflects assessment of patient needs, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical interventions, and evaluation of patients' responses to treatments. In addition, the nurse delivers fundamental, knowledge-based care to adult andgeriatric patients while developing technical competence in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act, MedicalCenter, and VAHQ standards of practice. The incumbent provides direct nursing care to individual and groups of patients under the guidance and direction of the Unit/ Nurse Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1)Citizenship.Citizen of the United States.



(2)Graduation from School of Nursing.Graduate of a school of professional nursingapproved by the appropriate State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.



(3)Registration/Licensure.A nurse will have a current, full, active and unrestricted registrationas a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.The RN must maintain a current, full, active and unrestricted registration to continue employment with VA.



(4)Education. Nurse I: Associate's degree or diploma (state approved or NLNAC accredited).Nurse II:BSN (NLNAC or CCNE accredited) along with approximately 2-3 years of successful nursing experience or Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN (NLNAC or CCNE accredited) with approximately 1-2 years of successful nursing experience or Doctoral degree in nursing or related field (regionally accredited university or college). Nurse III: Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN (NLNAC or CCNE accredited) along with approximately 2-3 years of successful nursing experience or Doctoral degree in nursing or related field (regionally accredited university or college) along with approximately 2-3 years of successful nursing experience.



(5) Preferred Experience.2-3 years of medical/surgical experience.Telemetry experience and BSN preferred.
