JOB SUMMARY:
The Providence VA Medical Center provides high quality comprehensive outpatient and inpatient healthcare to veterans residing in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. Each veteran patient is assured personalized care by a team of health care providers.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:

The Staff Nurse provides care to veterans requiring medical and surgical intervention in addition to telemetry. The procedures/services provided on 5B are comprehensive nursing care in conjunction with interdisciplinary teams; all medical services, general surgery as well as specialty surgery, including plastics, podiatry, orthopedics, and vascular, thoracic, ophthalmologic, urologic, maxillofacial/oral and ear, nose, throat.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Must be U.S. citizen. Graduate of an NLNAC/CCNE accredited school of nursing with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing or a field related to nursing preferred. Must possess and active, current, full and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse. A National certification in Clinical Area in Nursing Administration a plus. Experience with electronic medical record and bar code medication administration system preferred. Previous medical/surgical nursing experience preferred. Prior Telemetry experience a plus.
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
