The position is located in the Nursing Division in the Obstetric/Newborn Nursery of Shiprock Service Unit.  The incumbent evaluates the nursing needs of patients, developing a plan of nursing care, initiates patient care assignments, provides or directs the provision of comprehensive nursing care.  Performs assignments in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery.

  • Assesses patients and develops a plan of care.
  • Initiates specific nursing measures needed to ensure well being of the patient.
  • Administers therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician.
  • Maintains professional knowledge  and proficiency in the unit.
  • Provides guidance as Charge Nurse in any section of the OB Unit.
