JOB SUMMARY:

Eight vacancies exist for Registered Nurses (RNs) for the Urology (GU) /ENT/3A Surgical Specialty Clinic Float RN position at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SG VHS), Gainesville, Florida. Tour of Duty: Full-time Position, Monday – Friday, Variable Day Shift.The NF/SGVHS is affiliated with health care programs at local colleges/universities.Florida has a low cost of living and no state income tax.Enjoy excellent recreational activities year-round and nearby beautiful beaches.

Gainesville vacancies exist for RNs interested in providing care to outpatients with scheduled consultations or follow-up appointments for a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions in this busy outpatient setting.This direct patient care includes, but not limited to, Veterans requiring evaluations, pre/post operative care, minor surgery, chronic health maintenance, and pre-anesthesia evaluations. This nursing care includes, but not limited to, screening and processing patients, medication administration, assisting with a variety of procedures, referrals, and patient education.The Surgical Specialty nursing staff works in collaboration with most surgical services and strives to develop and provide a comprehensive plan of care for each individual patient.




QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Candidates must be U.S. or naturalized citizens and be proficient in spoken and written English.Basic Life Support required.The following will be considered in the selection:a. Bachelors in Nursing preferred. b. Successful medical/surgical experience within the last five years preferred. c. Documented excellent interpersonal relationship skills with demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary groups effectively. d. Clinical competency documented in prior nursing assignments.e. Demonstrated exceptional ability to make critical decisions in stressful environments.f. Demonstrated dependability and flexibility. g. Documented history of positive team building skills required. h. Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment required.
