About the Position: Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster stricken areas throughout the US. Employees must pass a stringent medical screening and be prepared to live and work in extremely austere conditions. Work schedule will initially be arduous, with much overtime. Sleeping arrangements may be limited to using a sleeping bag or in the vehicle used to move from location to location. The duty station for pay purposes for these positions is Kennewick, WA with possible 100% Temporary Duty (TDY) in various locations throughout the US.

Inspects work & determines adequacy, analyzes & develops data, & provides technical guidance in deriving technical input for design memoranda, plans & specifications, reports, etc. Utilizes conventional, well-established engineering practices of limited scope working from design criteria, soils & survey data, & information in the forms of sketches, developmental models, & guidance, prepares working & final drawings of earth & rock fill embankments, concrete structures, cut slopes & soil foundations on multi-purpose civil works projects. Makes design studies & computations in connection with specific portions of projects such as Channel for flood control & navigation. Determines number & scope of drawings required to present work in sufficient detail to facilitate bidding & construction by contractor. Applies engineering practices in preparing oil boring logs from basic information, including data on profile drawings for inclusion in reports & contracts.
