JOB SUMMARY:

To provide medical case management support on selected aspects of BPA's Occupational Health Program under the medical oversight of the Reviewing Medical Officer, and under the leadership of the BPA manager.
Duties include:
- Serves as subject matter expert to advise BPA on compliance with current and evolving employee medical actions. These include: return to duty following work related injury or illness, fitness for duty examinations, post- offer medical screening for pre- employment, change of craft and exit physical examinations, health assessments following occupational exposures.
Works collaboratively with program managers and representatives from Human Capital Management (HCM), Safety and Facilities Management to review selected policies and procedures, and to help design and implement improvements.
Provides informed, expert opinions on employee medical issues related to active employee/management needs in these HCM sustainment functions:
- Workers Compensation (for work related injuries and illness)
- Reasonable Accommodation (for employees requesting accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Amendment Act) in collaboration with the RA Coordinator.
- Employee Drug Testing (advising program manager on matters related to pre- employment, random surveillance and post-accident drug testing)
- As required, support the case preparation work of BPA's Corporate Counsel and HCM's Employee Relations staff with expert advice.
- Help train HCM staff and BPA managers on selected aspects of the Occupational Health Program.
