About the Position: Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster stricken areas throughout the US. Employees must pass a stringent medical screening and be prepared to live and work in extremely austere conditions. Work schedule will initially be arduous, with much overtime. Sleeping arrangements may be limited to using a sleeping bag or in the vehicle used to move from location to location. The duty station for pay purposes for these positions is Kennewick, WA with possible 100% TDY (Temporary Duty) in various locations throughout the US.

Serves as Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination & execution of assigned projects. Coordinates the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, & environmental considerations, etc., for engineering projects of considerable scope & complexity as measured by their diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, & public issues. Controls & manages project milestones & budgets from planning through construction & initial operations. Reviews project progress, measuring performance & taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule & cost. Responsible for keeping the sponsor/customer fully informed of project progress, issues & their resolution, & any impact on costs. Responsible for the development of all required sponsor/customer & Corps of Engineers agreements, leading the negotiation of such agreements on the part of the Corps of Engineers.

Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e., retired under section 8336(d)(1) or 8414(b)(1)(A) of title 5, United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate. This position is a temporary position and may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of two years.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
