The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SG VHS) is currently recruiting a Chief, Dental Service.This individual must be proficient in all areas of dentistry.

This position provides administrative and clinical leadership for the service to ensure achieved performance measures. Responsibilities include planning, developing and directing administrative and clinical functions of the Dental Clinic. The role of this position is to provide patient care approximately 80% of the time and administrative duties approximately 20% of the time. Responsible for providing the complete range of dental care to patients including removable and fixed prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, endodontics and restoration of implants.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Candidates must be U.S. citizens and be proficient in spoken and written English. Degree of doctor of dental surgery or dental medicine resulting from a course of education in dentistry from a school of dentistry listed by the Council on Dental Education, American Dental Association, in the list published for the year in which the course of study was completed, or a school (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia as qualifying for full and unrestricted licensure provided the licensure requirements include a written examination measuring science achievement and a performance examination measuring clinical competence.Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia, at least one year general practice residency or equivalent.Highly desirable candidates should possess knowledge of the Veterans Health System, management, and teaching experience.
Specialized Education:
You must show successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a degree in the field related to the job to which you are applying.
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
