This is an entry-level trainee position. Food Service Workers perform routine tasks that are easily learned. Work is assigned in one or more functional areas of the kitchen such as food preparation, dish and pot washing, dry and refrigerated storage, receiving and serving line. During the training period the selectee is instructed in normal nutrition, modified diets, sanitation, safety and job procedures. Upon successful completion of 6 months training, selectee will be eligible for promotion to WG-2.

Established tour of duty: Rotating shifts Sunday through Saturday, 7-10 am, 11-2 pm or 4-7pm with 2 consecutive days off per week.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Worker-trainees. Positions require minimal training and experience.
Applicants are evaluated on responses to the questionaire, experience, education and/or training, willingness to perform routine tasks and reliability and dependability. Worker-trainees may be converted to the permanent workforce after 3 years of satisfactory performance.
WG-7408-01 level: Must demonstrate the ability to do the work of the position.
WG-7408-02 level: 6 months of specialized experience at the WG-1 level.
