JOB SUMMARY:Our mission at Fort Meade, is to enable critical national security missions by providing our customers and community the facilities and infrastructure they require, the quality of life they deserve, and a safe, secure environment in which to work and live.
ABOUT THE POSITION: This announcement may be used to fill REGULAR FULL-TIME, REGULAR PART-TIME, or FLEXIBLE positions. All Army Lodging Regular Full-time and Part-time positions are Limited Tenure, not to exceed one (1) year, but may be extended if deemed necessary by the servicing activity. Will work under general supervision. Work is usually performed indoors in areas that have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Must know the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions, and must be able to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. Position requires communicating with customers. Must be in uniform at all times.
Work Schedule: 7:30AM-4:00PM; All schedules are to include Weekends and Holidays, and may include some overtime.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment. Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc. Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities. Cleans, and dusts assigned areas. Empties trash. Makes beds and changes linen. Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt. Moves heavy furniture. Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
HIGHLY PREFERRED: Three (3) months experience peforming janitorial or custodial duties.
Must have the ability to follow instructions and read signs. Must have a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment. Must be able to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment. Must be able to stand and walk on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of items or carts, and possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Conditions of Employment:
1. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, to include a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required.
2. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Payment of Permanent Change of station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not the Government interest.
