This position is is located at the Jicarilla Service Unit, Pharmacy Department in Dulce, NM.  The purpose of this position is to provide supervisory, managerial and administrative function to the pharmacy.

    • Serves as the Director of the Pharmacy Department, directing and coordinating all pharmacy activities.
    • Responsible for overseeing the overall planning, direction, security and timely execution of all pharmacy services, including, monitoring effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
    • Serves as a staff Pharmacist, dispensing medication and other pharmaceuticals for patients.
    • Records pertinent information in patients medical charts and maintains all necessary prescription records.


    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    Basic Requirements

    Education: Four-year bachelor's degree in pharmacy recognized by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.

    Licensure: All applicants must be currently licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Must submit copy of valid, unrestricted license. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.

    In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements:

    Candidates at the GS-12 must have had 1 year of specialized, professional pharmacy experience equivalent to at least GS-11.

    Specialized Experience: Experience in performing a variety of complex cognitive functions in the pharmacy, which require application of knowledge, skills, and abilities in the area of clinical pharmacy and pharmacotherapy.  Experience as a pharmacy director responsible for a full range of pharmacy services and supervisory functions in a hospital or in a medical facility.

    Time-In- Grade Requirement:Federal status applicants must have completed at least 52 weeks of service in a position no more than 2 grades lower than the position to be filled. If selected under the Excepted Service Examining Plan, individuals may be appointed without regard to time-in-grade requirements.
