JOB SUMMARY:
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.
ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits afforded to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy ARTs positions.As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on the average one weekend of military training per month. They are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members thereof are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
This is a standing register used to fill potential positions at Air Force Reserve Command locations as vacancies occur. the beginning and ending salaries may vary depending on location of position.
Some positions may have promotion potential to a higher grade being filled. Multiple vacancies may be filled from this announcement.
Permanent Change of Station costs will not be paid.

This occupation includes jobs involved in rebuilding, overhauling, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, aligning, and maintaining integrated systems, i.e., where the output of a number of sensor subsystems is integrated in a logic subsystem and the resultant used to modify the operation of the total system. Examples are; fire control, flight/landing control, bombing-navigation, and electronic warfare or multiple integrated electronic systems composed of several of these systems which are closely interrelated and interdependent.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
A specific length of experience or training is not required. However, you must have had experience and/or training (military or civilian, paid or unpaid) of sufficient scope and quality to be able to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. You must show that you have knowledge, skills and abilities of the Job Elements listed below as they relate to the position for which you are applying. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Position may or will require incumbent to:
(1) The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments. (2) The incumbents regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. (3) May be required to work uncommon tour of duty. (4) May be required to drive a motor vehicle. (5) May require lifting 80lbs and over. (6) Position may require background security investigation to determine suitability employment and/or a security clearance. (7) Some positions covered by this announcement may be designated for drug testing. (8) Some positions under this announcement may be covered by the domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sept 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. ELEMENT N -- Electronic Diagrams and Schematics--Give examples of electronic drawings, schematics, and diagrams that you can read. Describe your ability to read and interpret diagrams for electronic equipment. Also describe your ability to identify electronic components and symbols by listing those you have worked with and give brief description of each.
