JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) is currently accepting applications under examining authority of 10 U.S.C., Section 2164, for position(s) in DDESS Ramey Schools. This vacancy announcement may be used for the purpose of filling multiple temporary intermittent positions throughout School Year 2011/2012.
POSITION(S) UNDER THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE FILLED BY APPOINTMENT IN THE EXCEPTED SERVICE.
This position is a Teacher (Substitute) at the DDESS Schools, Ramey, Puerto Rico. This position provides instructional services to students as a substitute for the regular teacher.

The substitute teacher replaces the classroom teacher.The substitute teacher follows lesson plans and presents information and instruction which helps students learn subject matter and skills which will contribute to their educational and social development; follows an instruction plan which is compatible with the school and system-wide curricular goals; interacts effectively with students, co-workers, and parents; carries out non-instructional duties as assigned and/or needed; adheres to established laws, policies, rules, and regulations; and follows a plan for professional development.The substitute teacher reports to and is supervised by the building principal.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to be considered under this announcement the applicant must meet one of the following levels.
Level I - $90.00 per day salary. Requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution and hold a current (valid) professional teacher certification issued by a U.S. State, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), or a U.S. Commonwealth or U.S. territory.Teaching certificate must be in English.
Level II - $75.00 per day salary.Requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution.Transcripts must be in English.
Level III - $65.00 per day salary.Requires a minimum of 60 semester hours of college coursework from a regionally accredited educational institution.Transcripts must be in English.
Each selectee will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before being appointed into this position.
