This position is located in the Production Resources Department. The organization is responsible for all Shipyard trade skills development, including Apprentice training, work skills, trade theory, industrial management, supervisor and other related training under the Production Resources Department's cognizance. In addition, the position is tasked with NAVSEA trade skills modernization program which will provide cohesive state-of-art training curriculum for all skilled trades.


The incumbent participates with key level managers in defining program goals. They will direct studies and formulate objectives and master plans for accomplishment of these goals. Direct studies and formulate curricula incorporating progressive skills with latest developments in the field. Maintain the ability to conduct an apprentice program when workload allows. Develops unique options for apprentice programs like co-op apprentices and combination with Navy or other programs. The incumbent will also be responsible for development and implementation of training courses specific to each trade. This includes specialized training for critical or new evaluations involving both nuclear and non-nuclear work such as nuclear refueling operations, installation or overhaul or prototype equipment, introduction of shop laser equipment, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field or a field that is closely related.

You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
