Position Status: This announcement may be used to fill temporary full-time, part-time or intermittent positions. Indicate on your resume your availability for any of these appointments.
About the Position: This position is in direct support of the 11 American Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRTs) in southern and eastern Afghanistan. PRT team members must be extremely self-reliant, flexible, creative, and forceful. Living conditions will be more austere than in Kabul or the other Area/Resident offices, but the job rewards are great. The job will require off-compund travel, which the PRT will ensure meets the applicable force protection standards.
The job provides the opportunity to learn how USACE operates in a reconstruction effort. You will deal with competing priorities and corporate approach to improving programs and methods of operation. To be successful in this position, you will need to (a) know your job; (b) be situationally aware; (c) be healthy; and (d) treat every individual with dignity and respect.

For more information on deployment, please visit http://www.hq.usace.army.mil/cepa/iraq/iraq.htm Under general supervision, serves as a project manager coordinating the development of project schedules, budgets, manpower needs, and milestones for assigned projects. Makes field investigations as necessary to assure implementation of project needs. Prepares project schedules, including network analysis schedules for assigned projects. Directs the preparation of all necessary budgetary data pertaining to assigned projects. Monitors and evaluates construction, operation and maintenance activities of assigned projects for conformance to project needs. Makes work assignments, furnishes assistance on unusual problems and controversial matters, and reviews completed work to assure that conclusions, decisions, and recommendations are consistent with sound project planning and design practices, and overall project objectives.
