POSITION DETAILS:

Salary Range:    GS-09:  $55,413 - $67,878 per annum

                        GS-10:  $57,979 - $71,713 per annum

Recruitment Incentives: Other recruitment incentives may include a recruitment or relocation bonus (subject to eligibility and approval) and Supplemental or National Student Loan Repayment incentives.

Appointment: May be filled as permanent, term or time-limited, or temporary appointments.  Positions are filled as vacancies occur.

Work Schedule: May be filled as full-time, part-time, rotational, or intermittent schedules.  Physicians are subject to on-call and/or call back tours of duty.

  • You will evaluate, plan, and administer nursing care to emergency room patients.
  • You will provide prescribed medication and treatment, help physicians during exams and treatment.
  • You will collect information regarding medical complaints, obtain medical history, take vital signs and assess patients appropriately for the purpose of implementing emergency interventions.
  • You will monitor patient care provided by LPNs, CNAs, and others.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

You must meel all of the BASIC REQUIREMENTS listed below:

  1. Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accredited agency at the time the program was completed.
  2. An active, unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Roico, or a territory of the United States.

In addition to the above, you must also meet the following minimum requirements for the grade level you wish to be considered for:

GS-09: One (1) year of specialied experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 gravel level OR a Master's Degree OR Two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education.

GS-10: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level OR Two and a hlaf (2 1/2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to the completetion of the requirements for a doctroral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent).

Examples of Specaialized Experience:  Performing professional nursing care of urgently/acutely ill and injured patients in an emergency care setting; developing plans to provide direct care to clients which involves the assessment and evaluation applicable to emergent care; carrying out emergency procedures and treatments; administering medications; observing and documenting patient's conditions, changes and reactions to medications and medical treatment.
