JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Term position NTE 2 years (may be extended up to 4 years contingent on budget allocation).

This position is located at the Small Business Administration, Office of Capital Access, Office of Financial Assistance, Office of Financial Programs, Sacramento Commercial Loan Servicing Center located in Sacramento, CA.

The incumbent serves as a Loan Assistant in the Sacramento 504 Processing Unit of the Sacramento Loan Processing Center. The incumbent is responsible for explaining lending policies, procedures and eligibility requirements for the 504 lending program. They will also provide general information regarding other SBA assistance programs and sources of funds. The incumbent will screen and analyze incoming loan applications and financial information to determine merits for acceptability of loan requests. Processes the eligibility evaluation of selected applications for loans that are considered less complex. The incumbent will also develop loan reports of findings on loan applications which include findings of favorable and/or unfavorable items for the loan specialist's attention.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
GS-07: To qualify at the GS-7 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing reviews for financial institutions and/or a variety of financing enterprises to assist in the processing, servicing and/or collection of commercial/business loans, including knowledge and experience with ascertaining the completeness and appropriateness of a requested action/change to the loan.
Education may not be substituted for experience for this position.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Candidates eligible for veterans' preference will be placed ahead of other candidates in the appropriate category for which they have been rated.
