Watervliet Arsenal, known as America's Cannon Factory, is an Army owned and operated manufacturing facility located in upstate New York, just outside of Albany. Constructed in 1813, the Arsenal has played a vital role in America¿s defense throughout its long history producing large bore cannon and a wide variety of other products for military needs. It is also home to the Army¿s Benet Laboratories. This arrangement of research, development and manufacturing at a single site facilitates concurrent design and manufacturing concepts. Watervliet Arsenal is located within the city of Watervliet, a small residential city which is approximately a 10-minute drive to Albany (the state capital ) 30 minutes to historic Saratoga and 1 hour to Lake George; located on a bus line and easily accessible to Interstate-787, Interstate-87 and the New York State Thruway.

    You will serve food by order and proper proportion. You will brew coffee according to the number of servings required. You will set up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread/butter and beverages. You will make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients. You will wash tables and counters and clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks, and refrigerators. You will maintain all work areas in sanitary and orderly condition and assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. You will be responsible to collect money, ring sales on register and make proper change. You will provide information to the supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays and overall work operations and problems.

  • Your resume must show that you possess: (1) Skill in use of food handling techniques; and (2) Knowledge of sanitation and safety requirements common to food service work. You must be able to follow recipes and combine ingredients for salads and other uncooked dishes. Applicants who claim veterans preference must submit their DD 214.
  • The experience described in your resume will be evaluated as related to the qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities required for this job.
  • Ability to do the work of the position under normal supervision.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching.
