This notice is issued under the direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which Department of the Navy has a severe shortage of candidates or a critical hiring need. JOB SUMMARY:The Bureau of Medicine and Surgery provides high quality, economical health care to approximately 700,000 active duty Navy and Marine Corps members, as well as 2.6 million retired and family members at a little more than half the national per capita average cost. This care is provided while supporting contingency, humanitarian, and joint operations around the world with highly trained, dedicated health care professionals adhering to the principles of Total Quality Leadership.
U. S. Naval Hospital Okinawa is the largest overseas hospital in the United States Navy. We provide professional health care for the more than 55,000 beneficiaries on Okinawa and referral services for nearly 175,000 beneficiaries distributed around the Pacific.

We currently have Clinical Nurses, Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Consultants available. Put your professional knowledge of nursing to the test. In this occupation you may provide care to patients, administer anesthetic agents and supportive treatments, promote better health practices, or consult and advise other nurses who provide direct care to patients. Depending on the position assigned, you may function as a team leader or in a supervisory role, assuming responsibilities for directing the activities of a nursing unit. This may include the assignment of patient care to non-professional staff, supervision and evaluation of patient care, and collaboration with physicians to measure patient responses to care already given. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
